  • 1 ^st Matric with Sciences (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) with Minimum 45% marks accumulative and individual in each subject.
  • 2 ^nd (unadjusted) and combined total of science subjects not less than 45%. Age: Maximum 35 years on the last date of applying for admission (both for Government/ Private candidate)
  • Operating Theatre Technicians (OTT)  in Pakistan has been approved by the Higher Education Commission. The degree is recognized by the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan. In addition, it is also acknowledged globally.

  Number of institutes offer Operating Theatre Technicians (OTT)

  • A number of institutes offer Operating Theatre Technicians (OTT) courses in Pakistan. These include  26 public sector institutes and 32 private sector colleges. In addition, the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP) has granted 43 colleges the NOC to initiate their pharmacy courses.

  • Note: Only colleges that are approved by PCP can offer the pharmacy course. So, it is advisable for students doingb  Operating Theatre Technicians (OTT) to enroll themselves with PCP as well through their colleges.

  • To prepare the students to become an efficient Medical Technician in Operation Theatre well versed with techniques and background analyses, in all of the operation theatre procedure. For this purpose, the teaching in the special technical subjects involves lectures; practical that include demonstration and bench work; and job training of both “Observing Type” and “Involvement Type” in the latter the students participate in duty performance in the working Operation Theatre Laboratory.
    To make the course and qualification comparable with similar programs in the country so that the candidates have a competitive standing in job seeking as well as in eligibility for entry into a graduation course in the technology in any such Institute.

  • Government and private hospitals and clinics having surgical wards are known to recruit operation theatre technicians. After higher studies, one may also don the role of an instructor or teacher at relevant training institutes.
